What will it look like when I arrive at the CAC?

You will be greeted by an Advocate upon arrival to the CAC.

With an Advocate, you and your child will be directed to our Family Room, where you will be provided with an opportunity to discuss the process, tour the facility, meet the Forensic Interviewer conducting the interview, and wait comfortably during the remainder of your visit.

The Forensic Interviewer will meet with you and your child. You will then be given a tour of the facility to see where your child will be during the visit.

The Forensic Interviewer will introduce you to the team of individuals responsible for your case (Law Enforcement, MDHHS, and/or Prosecuting Attorney) before the interview. The team will be in this room watching the interview in real time.

During the interview, you will continue to meet with the Family Advocate to discuss the process of the interview, learn about resources in the community, and gather more information for your family.

After the interview, the Forensic Interviewer will bring your child back to the family room to wait with the Family Advocate while the Forensic Interviewer and the team debrief with you on how the interview went and next steps to be taken.

After your visit, the Family Advocate will make contact with you within one week to follow up with you on how you and your child are doing, discuss any questions/concerns you may have, and provide you with support through the process.

Our Advocate will make contact with you at a minimum of 30 days after the first follow up, and 90 days after that. The staff at the Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center will work with your family, Law Enforcement, MDHHS, the Prosecutor’s office, and/or other services providers your family is connected with to ensure your family can heal.

You and your child will have access to free therapy services after your initial visit to the CAC.
